Notes:
Skins was popular because it contrasted the polished looking and chaotic plots of shows like The Secret Sex Life of the American Teenager, Dawson’s Creek, The OC. Skins was messy, personal and human. This is exactly why I loved it.
No gloss, no glam
Writers included teenagers
Cast = teenagers
Yeah these look like normal british teens
Series 5-6
Characters aren’t interesting
Focusing on humans in the center of chaos? No more
Wanted this generation to be more laid back and less depressing than the last generation
Want to explore empathetic character bonding, but was boring and melodramatic at the same time
Made the show feel stupid. Feels like degrassi with cussing
Franky
Poorly poorly written character
No character development
So much potential
Fashion sense, gender
WHY DIDN’T MINI AND FRANKY DATE
Bryan Elsley
Completely change Franky in season 6
suddenly, body dysphoria is GONE
she becomes a manic pixie dream girl
Tried to make her effy
Dark story lines ARE BACK
TB to Chris’s death (ILY!!!!!!!) amazing death scene.
the child acting of it all
